Terraco: an exhibition stand that lets visitors touch the product, from 3D render to show floor

A compact, open exhibition stand that lets visitors touch Terraco's finishes, see its projects and remember the brand, taken from 3D concept to the show floor.

Terraco project by Old Port

The brief

Terraco is an architectural surface finishes brand known for signature facade finishes and a focus on sustainability, aesthetics and architectural innovation. Its finishes have to be seen and touched to be understood, but the stand had a compact footprint. The brief was an immersive, interactive space that showed the finishes and the sustainability commitment without feeling cramped.

The process at a glance

  1. Concept and 3D designThe layout, sightlines and graphics were designed and visualised in 3D in Autodesk Maya and KeyShot so the stand could be approved before fabrication.
  2. Materials and fabricationMaterials were selected, then the structure and display units were fabricated and the printed graphics and signage produced.
  3. Workshop pre-assemblyThe complete stand was assembled in the workshop first to check stability and fit.
  4. On-site assembly and fine-tuningThe stand was assembled at the venue, then lighting, display alignment and branding were fine-tuned in place.

The starting point

Terraco makes surface finishing solutions and is known for its signature facade finishes, with a focus on sustainability, aesthetics and architectural innovation. That kind of product is hard to sell from a brochure. Texture, depth and colour only make sense when an architect or contractor can run a hand across a sample and picture it on a building.

The brief was an immersive, interactive exhibition space that showcased the facade finishes and the brand's commitment to sustainability. The constraint was space: the stand had a compact footprint, so every element had to earn its place, and the stand still had to feel open enough that visitors would step in rather than walk past.

The approach

Old Port handled the stand end to end: concept, 3D design, production and on-site delivery. The work ran in a clear sequence.

  1. 3D concept and design. The stand was modelled and visualised in 3D using Autodesk Maya and KeyShot, with graphics prepared in Adobe Illustrator, so layout, sightlines and branding could be approved before anything was built.
  2. Material selection. Materials were chosen for the structure, display units and graphics.
  3. Precision fabrication. The structure and display units were fabricated to the approved design.
  4. Printed graphics and signage. Brand graphics and signage were produced alongside the build.
  5. Workshop pre-assembly. The full stand was assembled in the workshop to check stability and fit before it travelled.
  6. On-site assembly. The stand was assembled at the venue, then lighting, display alignment and branding were fine-tuned.

Designing in 3D first is what makes a small stand workable. Problems with reach, clearance and visibility show up in a render, where they cost nothing to fix, instead of on the show floor. It is the same discipline we bring to creative direction on any physical brand experience.

Key design decisions

Let the product do the talking

The design language is modern minimalism with functional interactivity. A strong Terraco logo and clean architectural lines carry the brand, and the rest of the stand steps back so the finishes are the focus. Curated product boards let visitors feel textures and compare colours directly.

A focal point from across the hall

A "Design Your World" backdrop with an architectural visual gives the stand a single, readable focal point, so it registers from a distance even on a small footprint.

From sample to finished building

An interactive screen shows project references and media. That lets a conversation move from a sample board in the visitor's hand to finished buildings that use the same finish.

Open, zoned and reusable

Floating shelves, open sides and clear zoning make the most of the space and keep it inviting. The build is modular, so the stand is easy to assemble and can be reused at future exhibitions rather than built once and discarded.

What was delivered

  • The stand concept and 3D visualisation.
  • A fabricated structure and display units, including floating shelves and product boards.
  • Printed graphics and signage, including the "Design Your World" backdrop.
  • An interactive screen zone for project references and media.
  • Full workshop pre-assembly, then on-site assembly with lighting, display alignment and branding fine-tuned in place.

Where it is used now

The stand was assembled on site after full pre-assembly in the workshop, and its modular structure is designed to be taken down and reused at future shows. The project, including the 3D renders and project images, is documented on Behance and on athuliyjujacob.com. Brand graphics for stands like this sit within our graphic design service.

Questions about this project

What tools were used to design the Terraco stand?

The stand was modelled and visualised in 3D using Autodesk Maya and KeyShot, with graphics prepared in Adobe Illustrator. Working in 3D first meant the layout, sightlines and branding could be reviewed and approved before any material was cut or any part of the structure was fabricated.

How was the Terraco stand built and installed?

After the 3D design was approved, materials were selected and the structure and display units fabricated, with printed graphics and signage produced alongside. The whole stand was pre-assembled in the workshop to check stability and fit, then assembled on site, where lighting, display alignment and branding were fine-tuned.

What does a visitor find on the Terraco stand?

Curated product boards for touching textures and comparing colours, a "Design Your World" backdrop with an architectural visual, an interactive screen showing project references and media, and floating shelves within an open, clearly zoned layout. A strong Terraco logo and clean architectural lines carry the brand throughout.
